Day 5- Cruise Grand Turk

(Ok - So it's summer time, and I can finally finish updating the bloggity-blog!) I noticed I never added day 5 from our cruise back in November... better late than never! On day 5 we visited the Grand Turk! It was a very small island, but probably the most gorgeous and my favorite place we visited! I remember it being quite HOT that day (100 degrees), but we had water adventures planned so I knew I could make it! We hopped on a boat and headed out to do some snorkling first. The water was quite chilly, but we saw some amazing sea creatures - baracuda, fish, and a nurse shark! After we hopped back onto the boat, we sailed to another part of the island where we swam with the stingrays! I had a hard time relaxing because I was afraid I was going to step on one of the stingrays, but they were beautiful! We got our pictures taken with the stingrays, and then headed back to the main island. We went to Margaritaville for some food and virgin drinks! Then, it was time to head back to the boat for our return to Miami! Even though I was quite sick most of the cruise, the shore excursions were my relief! It was definitely a trip I will never forget!

Day 4 - Cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico

Day four of our cruise, which happened to be Thanksgiving Day and my 30th birthday, landed us in San Juan, Puerto Rico! This was by far our favorite place we visited on the cruise! We started with a walking tour of Old San Juan, which was incredible! The architecture, colors, and scenery of the city was breath taking! After our walking tour, we did some shopping, stopped for a snack at McDonald's, and headed back to the ship!
Castillo San Felipe del Morro - Unfortunately, the site was closed because it was Thanksgiving Day, but it was still pretty from the outside!

When we got off the boat, a pilgrim and a turkey greeted us!

Most of the houses had this type of balcony.

Cruise - Day 3

On day three of our cruise, we went to St. Thomas! It was beautiful, but very crowded! It was quite hot this day, but the water was still a little chilly! We first went to Magens Bay (one of the top 10 beaches in the world) for a swim! The beach was packed!!! Then we went for a city tour that stopped at Black Beard's Castle.  Finally, we headed back to the boat after wandering the city for a while. Notice the great shot of the iguana Adrian got at Blackbeard's castle. We also saw one at Magens Bay! St. Thomas was beautiful, but there were people everywhere!

Anniversary Cruise - Day 1 & 2

This year for our anniversary (2nd), we decided to take a cruise over Thanksgiving to the Caribbean! This sounded like a fabulous idea back in the summer, but little did I know that I would be pregnant and have horrible morning sickness!!! I survived, but I think it would have been more enjoyable had I not been so sick! Saturday morning (November 20), we flew from Charlotte to Miami, where we spent the night (Adrian slept well that night, while I on the other hand, spent the night puking in the bathroom).  I was beginning to think, "What have I gotten myself into?" The next morning, we headed to the Port of Miami where we finally boarded the Carnival Glory! After a miserable day at sea (for me at least), we arrived in Nassau, Bahamas! It was a little chilly, but we headed off to a secluded island for the day.  That night was one of the Captain's nights so we got all dressed up for dinner! Stay tuned for more of our cruise adventures to come!

Big Announcement!!!

At the very beginning of October, Adrian and I found out we are going to be parents!!! Baby McCaslin's expected due date is July 1, 2011! I am both excited and nervous, but I guess both emotions come with the territory of being a first time mom! Here's a picture for proof!

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Night!

Sometime between July and October (yeah... I don't know when exactly), Adrian's mom, niece, sister, and brother-in-law came over, and we had a "rockin" night playing Guitar Hero/Rock Band! The best part was Susie's (Adrian's mom) singing!!! Here are a few snapshots from the night...

Beach Trip 2010

Better late than never, right?! This past July, we went to North Myrtle beach with Adrian's side of the family - his mom (Susie) and dad (Joe), his sister (Allison), her husband (Kyle), their daughter (Makenzie), and we met up with Adrian's aunt and uncle and their two daughters. It was a fun-filled week, but boy was it hot!!!

Dear Blog....

Dear Blog,
I am so sorry that I have neglected you for the past month or two. The life of a teacher makes August really difficult to manage with that whole school thing starting back.  When I have time to breath a few breaths of air and catch up, I promise to show you some tender love and care. Until then, please know that I have not forgotten you though it appears as though I have neglected you. Please be patient.
Much Love,
Kelly

In a nutshell...

The past two weeks have been a little busy! I don't have many pictures to accompany my post (except for ones I stole from other people), but I thought I would fill you in on the events!  Here's the recap in a nutshell...

- I met up with quite a few of my teacher friends from school to head to Blowing Rock for lunch at Makoto's and to shop at the outlets! Adrian happened to be working in Blowing Rock at the same time so he swung by and picked me up!

- I was able to visit my precious friend, Sarah, who lives in Franklin, NC. It was great catching up, playing with her little girls, and going to see David Crowder in concert. (I stole this picture from you, Sarah! Hope you don't mind! :))

- Saturday, Adrian and I went to the Elledge Family reunion at my Uncle Jack's house! It was great to see everyone and catch up on life! I stole a few pictures from my dad as well! ;)

My adorable grandparents - Joe and Betty!

Uncle Jack (my grandpa's brother) and his dog Zorro!

My lovely mom!

Brothers! (My grandpa and his brother, Jack)

My dad and my 2nd cousin, Scott.

There's always joking involved when the Elledges get together! Pictured here are my mom and Donna (Scott's mom) in the front, with my uncle David (my dad's brother) and Aunt Gerri (Jack's wife) in the background.

- After we left the family reunion, Adrian and I headed to pick up my cousin Ashley.  She came back to our house and spent several nights with us.  We watched The Phantom of the Opera, went to church, lunch with my mom at Zaxby's, went to a movie - Grown Ups, and stopped by to visit my grandma on the way home! It was a fun weekend! I forgot to take any pictures, so here's one of Ashley and me from Father's day weekend!

Sugar learns to read!

A few days ago, I was reading a book while Sugar slept beside me.  However, within a matter of minutes, Sugar had learned to read! I am sure that you can guess who was behind these pictures!
My reading is quite intense in this picture!

July 4th Festivities

Okay... so I'm a little behind on the blog! Oh well... We celebrated the 4th of July on three different occasions! On Saturday, July 3rd, we went with Adrian's parents, sister, and niece to a cookout at the home of some friends of the family. We enjoyed great food, fun games, and fireworks! (see the pictures below) On Sunday, July 4th, my parents came over to our house and we grilled out! My dad made some fabulous ribs, and Adrian grilled the chicken! After eating, we played a game of dominoes, which Adrian for all purposes won (we stopped after several rounds because it was getting late). Finally, on July 5th, we headed over to Adrian's parents' house where they grilled out and had some friends over. It was a great holiday weekend! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the latter two to post.
